Points Per: Amount Spent: Specific Items

In Points Per: Amount Spent: Specific Items events, members purchase selected items from the brand’s catalog and, if the amount spent meets the specified threshold, receive a dynamic points award based on the amount spent.

Core restrictions

Points Per: Amount Spent: Specific Items events are constrained by the following core restrictions.

  • Qualifying Items

Specifies which items in the brands’ catalog are eligible to earn the outcome for a rule. Use the SKU picker to select the products. See Qualifying Items for a detailed description.
  • Point calculation

Indicates whether points awards are based on qualifying items or total spend. See Point Calculation for more information.

  • Outcome hurdle

Indicates the amount that must be spent in transaction before the points are awarded. The amount compared to the outcome hurdle is with tax excluded and discounts applied. The outcome hurdle is inclusive. This means that if the hurdle is $10, and the total of the unit prices is $10 (with no tax or discounts), the achievement is met. See Outcome Hurdle for more information.

Ancillary restrictions

The following ancillary restrictions further constrain Points Per event: Amount Spent: Specific Items events.

Example

Your brand is adding a new item into your catalog - a lightweight carbon surf ski. You run a promotion to support the introduction of the new item where members earn triple points for each dollar spent on a carbon suffice during the month of May.

Note that you do not specify the details of the points award in the Points Per rule itself. Rather, you specify the details of the point award on the Outcomes page.

Rule

Note that the Point Calculation restriction is left at the default setting of “Calculate from Qualifying Items”. This ensures that points are awarded only on money spent on the new item and not for any other items that may be included in the transaction.
